1. Greetings and Thanksgiving (2 Thessalonians 1:1-4): Paul, Silvanus (Silas), and Timothy greet the Thessalonian church and express gratitude for their growing faith and the increase of their love for one another. Paul boasts about their steadfastness and faithfulness amid persecutions and tribulations.
2. God's Righteous Judgment (2 Thessalonians 1:5-10): Paul reassures the Thessalonians that their endurance in suffering is evidence of the righteous judgment of God. Those who trouble the Thessalonian believers will face God's judgment, while the persecuted believers will find relief. This judgment will occur when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, bringing retribution to those who do not know God and do not obey the Gospel.
3. Prayer for the Thessalonians (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12): Paul prays that God would count the Thessalonians worthy of their calling, fulfilling every good purpose and work of faith. He desires that the name of the Lord Jesus may be glorified in them, and they in Him, according to the grace of God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
