1. The Mighty Angel and the Little Scroll (Revelation 10:1-7): John sees a mighty angel descending from heaven, clothed with a cloud and a rainbow over his head. His face is like the sun, and his legs like pillars of fire. In his hand is a little scroll, and he sets his right foot on the sea and his left on the land, symbolizing authority over the entire earth. The angel utters seven thunders, but John is forbidden to write down what they say. Instead, he is instructed to eat the little scroll, which will be sweet in his mouth but bitter in his stomach. This symbolizes the bittersweet nature of the prophetic message.
2. John's Commission (Revelation 10:8-11): John is commissioned to prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings. The little scroll represents God's Word, and John is called to proclaim its contents to the world.
